In preparation for the upcoming general elections on December 7, 2024, the National Election Security Task Force, in collaboration with the Electoral Commission of Ghana, has successfully secured vehicles from various state agencies to bolster election security operations.

During a press conference, the Task Force expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education, district assemblies, and other local government agencies for their positive response to the request for vehicle support.

"A number of these agencies...have heeded our call and positively responded, providing us with some pickups and buses to support the election operation exercise," stated Grace Ansah Akrofi, the Public Affairs Director of the Ghana Police Service.

The vehicles will play a pivotal role in the movement of personnel and logistics, ensuring efficient and robust security measures during the electoral process. The Task Force emphasized its commitment to maintaining law and order and creating a peaceful environment for the elections. It also called on all stakeholders to actively contribute to the collective effort for a successful electoral exercise.

This collaboration aligns with long-standing practices in Ghana, where state resources are mobilized to support election-related activities. Authorities are determined to secure the necessary resources to guarantee the safety and integrity of the 2024 polls.
