OAfrica Organizes Blood Donation and Health Screening Event

OAfrica, a charitable foundation, recently organized a blood donation and health screening event aimed at supporting the national blood bank and promoting quality healthcare. The initiative, led by alumni of the O. Africa Foundation who have benefited from the organization's programs, was held to address the ongoing need for blood donations and to offer free health screenings to the local community.

The event saw a remarkable turnout, with over 200 people in attendance, demonstrating widespread community support for the cause. Speaking at the event, Mr. Anipah Francis, a Social Work Consultant with O. Africa, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating that it is the organization's way to contribute to the well-being of the community.

"We are committed to being an active partner in the community we live in," said Mr. Anipah, underlining the foundation’s dedication to giving back.

In addition to advocating for blood donations, Mr. Anipah also touched on the topic of child welfare. He stressed that children who lose their parents should not be placed in orphanages, but rather should be cared for by their extended family whenever possible. "It is not an option for children to move to the streets or to an orphanage home because their parents have died," he said. "Orphanages are not the ideal places to raise children; instead, they should be integrated into their relatives’ homes where they can grow up in a family environment."

This event by OAfrica not only contributed to a critical healthcare need but also highlighted the foundation's broader commitment to social issues, including the care and upbringing of vulnerable children.
