As Ghana approaches its much-anticipated general election, independent presidential candidate Dr. Agnes Ayisha has issued a passionate plea for peace and transparency. In an address to her supporters, Ayisha called on all Ghanaians, political parties, and security agencies to ensure a violence-free election and to accept the outcome with dignity, regardless of the results.
“If we want to emulate countries like the United States, then we must embrace their example of peaceful elections. I urge everyone—the citizens, the security services—to vote peacefully. There should be no fighting after the vote. If you win, you win. If you lose, you concede,” Ayisha stated.
Although her name will not appear on the ballot in this election, Ayisha expressed optimism about the future, declaring her intention to run in 2028. “God willing, I will be on the ballot in 2028. Together, we will begin a new chapter,” she said confidently.
Ayisha took the opportunity to commend her supporters for their efforts, saying, “My followers have done an incredible job, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. Kudos to all of you.”
She also appealed to the Electoral Commission to uphold its responsibility of conducting a credible election. “The Commission must carry out its duties diligently, ensuring transparency and honesty in the results they provide,” she emphasized.
Dr. Ayisha’s call for peace, unity, and a fair democratic process has resonated with many Ghanaians, setting a tone of hope and responsibility as the nation prepares to head to the polls.
