Kayayei Empowerment Program: 600 Kayayei Women Graduate with Vocational Skills

The 3rd Cohort of the Kayayei Empowerment Program, founded by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, celebrated the graduation of 600 women on Thursday, August 29, 2024. This groundbreaking initiative aims to empower Kayayei women by equipping them with essential vocational skills, paving the way for their economic independence. The graduates were trained in six specialized areas, including baking, bead making, soap making, decoration, driving, and more. The program's goal is to unlock the potential of these women, enabling them to become self-reliant and economically active members of society. NDC MANIFESTO LAUNCH: MAHAMA PROMISES TO SCRAPE EX-GRATIA

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has reaffirmed his commitment to abolishing ex-gratia payments to public officials if elected in the 2024 general elections. John Mahama in his 2024 manifesto dubbed ‘Reseting Ghana has promised to address the disparities in the remuneration of Article 71 officeholders compared to the broader public service. “My Government will Abolish the payment of ex-gratia and cut out waste and ostentation in government. IAA HOLD ANNUAL DELEGATES CONFERENCE

The Internal Audit Agency has held it's annual delegates conference to discuss current happenings in the Ghanaian economy and measures to remedy the situation. The IAA conference is organized annually to invite stakeholders such as internal auditors, heads of institutions, finance directors, and developmental partners. During this years conference at the University of Professional Studies, Accra ( UPSA), themed; Consolidating Democratic and Accountable Governance in Ghana: The Role of Internal Auditors. The David Douglas Leadership Forum in collaboration with the winner of Ms Galaxy International USA 2024, Keerah Yeowang  held a transformative training program for  some head porters commonly known as ‘Kayayei’ at Madina Kkayayei Empowerment Training Center.   The day long workshop focused on specialized skilled areas such as; Pageantry, Modeling, Make up, Self Esteem and Self Confidence.   Ms Keerah Yeowang highlighted that as a  queen, it was her project to train young women on how to get back their self esteem and to build self confidence. MAURYA EDUCATION LIMITED HOLDS ITS 13th NATIONAL UCMAS COMPETITION

  The Maurya Education Limited has held its 13th Universal concept of mental arithmetic system (UCMAS) at Kasoa Pentecost Conventional Center.  UCMAS is a professional organization who aims to develop the intellect of children.  The three (3) days event brought together over 3000 Students from 250 schools to compete for top honors. Mr. Girish Gurbani, Director for Maurya Education Limited, said the UCMAS has truly been of help to children who participated over the years, propelling them to excel through basic and tertiary level of education. Mr. Gurbani also said, it has developed the brains of the children during their formative years which is from the ages of five (5) to fourteen (14) years. EPA ENGAGE CSOs/ MEDIA TO DIALOGUE AROUND NCA PROGRAMMES

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has engaged Civil Society Organizations and the Media on a dialogue on Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) Programmes in Accra.   The NCA Programme aims to integrate the value of ecosystem services into accounting and reporting systems  in a standard way.   Principal Program Officer, Environmental Protection Agency and National Co- Coordinator, Ghana NCA Programme,  Rev. Kwame Boakye Fredua,  addressing the media said, the NCA will account the use and flows of natural resources and will comprehensively track the stocks of resources.
